"Delhi Police Van Tried to Run Me Over", Alleges AAP Leader Dilip Pandey

A senior Aam Aadmi Party or AAP leader, Dilip Pandey, has alleged that a Delhi Police van tried to run him over while he was briefing journalists outside a Delhi police station on Tuesday night.

Senior leaders of Deli’s ruling party are meeting this morning at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence to discuss the alleged incident.

“I am shocked that Delhi Police is trying to eliminate me,” Mr Pandey told news agency IANS, adding, “I was luckily pushed away by one of the volunteers.”

Mr Pandey, who is AAP’s national convenor, also tweeted “Shocked to see sad state of Delhi Police. A police bus tried to run over – kill me from behind while I was talking to media. Someone pushed-saved me!”

“A police van tried to run over AAP leader Dilip Pandey while he was talking to the media at Rajendra Nagar Police Station,” the party said in a Facebook post.

The AAP leader was at the Rajinder Nagar police station talking to journalists about women volunteers of his party being detained after protests over a teen’s murder turned violent. The alleged incident he said, happened at about 10:30 pm.
