Jet Airways Extends Freedom Sale, GoAir Announces New Offer

Budget carrier GoAir is offering a 19.47 per cent discount on fares as part of its “Freedom Offer”. The booking period for this offer is open till August 18. This GoAir offer is applicable for travel period between August 15 and October 12, 2015.

Meanwhile, rival Jet Airways has extended its “Freedom Sale” offer. Tickets for Jet’s “Freedom Sale” can now be booked till August 17, 2015. Under this scheme, Jet is offering a flat 30 per cent discount on base fares of domestic flights and travel from India to international destinations. This offer is applicable on select booking classes.

Jet Airways is also offering an additional Rs 250 discount on one-way flights and Rs 500 on return flights exclusively for booking through its app and mobile site.

Another budget carrier AirAsia India on Monday announced reintroduction of its Rs 990 (all-inclusive) fare offer. This offer is valid for travel period of 15 February-31 August 2016 and to avail it tickets should be booked between August 10 and August 16.

Fare wars between airlines have turned intense in Indian skies and carriers have been coming up with offers every other week to woo flyers.

The promotional schemes offered by different airlines have helped spur strong passenger growth. The number of passengers carried by domestic airlines during January-June this year rose to 388 lakh, as against 324 lakh during the corresponding period of previous year – an increase of nearly 20 per cent.
