Dhaka:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing the Indian community at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka.

Following are the highlights of his speech:

  • (Begins his speech in Bengali, gets a heavy round of applause)

  • Today is end of my visit, but I feel the journey has just begun

  • People thought we are near but now people have to accept we are near as well as together

  • Not just Asia but the entire world will now conduct a post-mortem of my 2-day visit to Bangladesh

  • The person who taught us a lot, Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been honoured by Bangladesh today

  • Our blood boiled against tyranny Bangladesh suffered in 1971

  • When we think of Bangladesh we feel very proud of the fact that even our Jawans have given their blood for this nation

  • Bangladesh springs back even as it faces calamity on daily basis

  • Was proud to hear about the success of Bangladesh textiles in China

  • PM Sheikh Hasina has made development her only goal

  • Bangladesh, like India, is a youthful nation. I am sure the development journey of Bangladesh cannot stop now
