India"s Sweets Refused on Eid by Pakistan Soldiers on Border

Wagah:  Amid mounting tension at the border, Pakistani soldiers today refused to accept sweets from their Indian counterparts on the occasion of Eid at the Wagah-Attari border.

Officials of the Border Security Force said that a message to their Pakistani counterparts for the annual exchange of Eid greetings did not meet with a response.

“It is true that sweets have not been exchanged this Eid… Till date, the tradition of exchange of sweets has always been followed… We want peace at the border and we also maintain efforts of cooperation every time… We will keep wishing them on every festival,” said Mr Farooqui, Deputy Inspector General, BSF.
