The landslide happened near a Gurudwara in the town of Manikaran, officials said.
The gurudwara management has begun rescue operations.

Kullu: Six people are feared killed in a landslide in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh.
A sad news came yesterday on 18 August 2015, that huge landslide driving heavy stones down from a hillock far above historic Sikh Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh , fell on Gurudwara residential complex, reportedly killing 7 persons , injuring about 12 persons and causing damage to a part of complex.
