In May, the top court said that neither the Centre nor state governments can squander money on promoting politicians or the schemes they have introduced. It also asked for a committee of three members to be created for executing its directions.
The court today asked the Centre to respond to a Public Interest Litigation or PIL that alleges the government is blatantly violating its order.
