Very Clear Which Way the Wind is Blowing: PM Modi in Poll-Bound Bihar

Saharsa, Bihar:  With the Bihar Assembly elections round the corner, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Saharsa.

Here are the highlights of what he has said:



 

• I am coming from a programme at Arrah.


• In this election, it is very clear which way the wind is blowing in Bihar.


• The people of Bihar are unstoppable. I salute them.


• There was a flood in Kosi. 35 lakh families were destroyed.


• No matter how far Gujarat is, we should stand by the people of Gujarat. And in that hour of need, the people of Gujarat stood by you.


• A person’s arrogance hurts very deeply.


• If someone launches a personal attack on me, I never comment about them in public.


• But when because of arrogance, the pain of the people is toyed with, I can’t stop myself.


• And I want to say this about the days of the floods.


• The people of Gujarat, with their hard-earned money, had sent a cheque of Rs 5 crore.


• Even people from Kosi who had settled in Gujarat had contributed to that money


• But arrogance of those in power here was so high that while you were in pain, they sent back the Rs 5 crore cheque.


• Does this behavior suit leaders?


• “Let the people of Kosi region die. I won’t leave my arrogance,” they seemed to say.


• Shouldn’t these people be defeated?


• Its people like these who have shattered the dreams of Bihar.


• Friends, I had taken that humiliation and we just came and helped the people.


• Friends, what can you expect from these people?


• Tell me is Jayaprakash Narayan the pride, the life of our nation or not?


• Has he made Bihar proud or not?


• Do you remember who had locked him in jail?


• Congress. Indira Gandhi had locked Jayaprakash Narayan in jail.


• When JP got out of jail, they couldn’t save him.


• Who is responsible for the death of JP?


• These people of Congress.


• Bihar decided to thrown them out of Bihar.


• But today, the people who played with JP’s life are teaming up with those in power.


• Will this not hurt his soul?


• Is this not equal to disrespecting with his memory?


• For the lust of power, is it right to partner with people like these?


• When arrogance is high, you distance yourself from the people and speak to five reporters in an air-conditioned room.


• The figures of Bihar government say that in January, 2015, 13,808 serious crimes were committed.


• In two months, this figure reached 18,500.


• In January, there were 217 murders. This is an increase of 46 per cent.


• If this keeps on what will the common man do?


• On every parameter, the life of the common man is at peril.


• In this election do you want to stop these murders and riots?


• You just have to elect a strong government.


• You just have to stand by us.


• When crisis struck again in the Nepal earthquakes, we wasted no time.


• We sent in the Army immediately.


• We opened the river to prevent floods in Kosi again.


• We were successful in saving the Kosi region.


• If they cared about the Kosi region, they would have fixed relations with Nepal.


• The solution to the floods in the region lies in Nepal.


• But I am to sorry to say they haven’t done anything to improve ties with Nepal in 17 years.


• It doesn’t take 70 minutes to go to Nepal from Patna. But it took an Indian PM 17 years.


• We went, sat down and talked in detail about the troubles of the Kosi region.


• We showed them. We stood by Nepal in the time of its need.


• Today Nepal stands with us like a brother.


• Friends, I am coming from Arrah.


• There was a government programme.


• We had to announce development projects. Roads, skill development, many more.


• When I had come before the elections, I had said if we came to power we would announce a 50,000 rupee crore package.


• Many people say Modi only talks he doesn’t work.


• When I came again, they taunted us, asking why didn’t we announce any package.


• I had said Parliament is in session, I cant infringe the Constitutional duty.


• Parliament Session has ended, and I have announced a package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore to change the face of Bihar.


• The Bihar government betrayed the BJP, the people of Bihar.


• It could not even spend the money that was allotted.


• The 2013-14 package of 12,000 crore has not been spent yet.


• The 40,000 crore is in addition to 1.25 lakh crore.


• So, the total is 1.65 lakh crore


• Roads will be made, electricity will come, farmers will get water.


• Factories and toilets will be made.


• Why do people have to go out of Bihar to study?


• The people of Bihar have decided to bring the NDA to power.
