In Bengaluru, 'Love' Turns Cruel, Leaving a Trail of Bodies

Bengaluru:  Three siblings, ranging in age from four to eight, were drowned in Bengaluru by a man who wanted to marry their mother and pushed them into an open manhole overflowing with sewage, the police said.

The children- two boys and a girl -were killed on August 27 in the eastern part of the city early in the evening, said the police.

Their mother, identified as Nazima Begum, had reported them missing late in August. The police says Fayum Baig, who was in love with her, and suspected that she was involved with another man, killed her children in revenge after abducting them from their school.

The police says that Nazima is estranged from her husband, and that Fayum Baig, who is related to her, was recognised by the children, which is why they accompanied him from school.

The body of one of the children was recovered on Monday.

Yesterday, the city was stunned by the news that a techie named MK Gokul, arrested for making hoax calls to the airport warning of bombs on flights, had confessed to murdering his wife with an idol of Lord Ganesha late in July. Mr Gokul was in love with a former classmate, and used phones registered in her husband’s name, hoping that he would be arrested.
